Summary: Resistance heat is obtained by passing a safe, low voltage, high amperage current through a resistive alloy. As with all Resistance Soldering Handpieces, heat is generated local to the work-piece. Current is present for only so long as power is applied to the Handpiece and there is a path for the current from the Power Unit, through the Handpiece and back to the Power Unit.
Description: Medium Tweezer-style Handpiece. Supplied with two 1/8" x 3" (3.2 mm x 76.2 mm) Copper-clad Stainless Steel Electrodes. This Handpiece features four-foot (1.22 m) 10 AWG high-stranded DLO cables (for flexibility), with taper pin quick connect terminals for connection to American Beauty
® Power Units (push in turning clockwise until snug). The handles are padded for operator comfort. When using a footswitch, the Handpiece\'s Tweezer design gives the operator the ability to grip parts while heating, then de-energize the Power Unit and continue to hold them in place until the solder joint cools.
Copper-coated, stainless steel electrodes can be easily bent, allowing the user to customize the handpiece to their specific application.
